B Aware Ethnic Community Awareness Meeting

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

The meeting focused on how to improve awareness of the increasing hepatitis B incidence among the capital’s ‘at risk’ ethnic communities (particularly first-generation immigrants from areas of high hepatitis prevalence such as Asia, Africa, China and Eastern Europe), and the importance of effective diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the disease. Attendees included medical experts and representatives from London-based community support groups.

Speakers included Professor Graham Foster, Professor of Hepatology, Queen Mary University, London (one of our medical advisors) and Penny Wilson-Webb, our Coordinator.
