BMA calls for HBV vaccination

There have been a number of BMA resolutions regarding hepatitis B vaccination, the most recent at the 2007 annual representatives meeting

“The British Medical Association acknowledges the call by the World Health Organisation to provide hepatitis B vaccines to all children and calls upon the Department of Health to introduce the hepatitis B vaccine into the childhood schedule without further delay.”   


The BMA Board of Science produced a briefing paper in 2005, Hepatitis B Vaccination in Childhood, which outlined the case for Hepatitis B Vaccination in Childhood, which outlined the case for universal vaccination of infants against hepatitis B.
