Hi,

I would like to know who is paying for your treatment (whatever it is). Do you have an insurance or pay it privately? How are the regulations in your home country?

Hi Clara!

Well, I know that in America and some parts of Europe you have to pay for your medication. You either have to have insurance or pay for it out of your pocket. In UK is different. The medical investigation are free of charge and sometimes the medication, but most of the time I have to pay for my prescription. How are things in Austria?

Hi andreea!

In Austria the health care system guarantees that everyone who is sick will be treated free of charge. This means that the national health insurance takes over all my costs for the therapy - from investigations, blood tests to the drugs - fortunately, otherwise I could not afford it. If I have understood it correctly it is quite similar in Germany only that there is a small fee to be paid with each doctor's visit and each prescription (something like 10 ¤).

Clara.

Hello to everyone,

I wish all countries had social security system, so that people with chronic diseases (usually chronic diseases require costly medications, like Pegasys)could save their lives. Unfortunately, in many developing countries the governors are not concerned with this issue, but rather have their own sources to get treatment. What is more, if someone sick goes to a (public) hospital in a developing country, he could catch other diseases (like hepatitis) from the hospital after chirurgical intervention, which is the horriblest thing that destroys human life and the future. And it is extremely important to disinfect all the medical instruments, at first. However, most developing countries and emerging economies have enough natural resources, and they must use it to cover all medical expenses in their countries.

Regards
