we have started a group of off label treatment with alinia (nitazoxanide) with hbsag quantity and other antigens blood tests plus hbvdna pcr
most of group is made by asians with difficult to treat hbv and lam/adv/etv resistance, some are caucasians.we have all hbv phases in the group (hbe pos or hbe neg, inactive carriers), and monotherapy or combo with etv or tnf or interferon
we are at early weeks but hbe negative have very fast results of hbvdna und in the first weeks, hbe positive asians very slow result with slow hbvdna decrease
me, caucasian genotype D hbe negative/hbeab positive, combo with etv, had a drop of hbsag antigen from about 4870iu/ml to 2290iu/ml, next hbsag test will be at 12th week
other member same situation as me, 3 weeks ntz monotherapy hbvdna drop from 173000iu/ml to less than 300iu/ml.more sensitive hbvdna pcr and hbsag quantity (abbott hbsag quantitative test) will be made at the 12th weeks of ntz monotherapy
threads about results are on our community, search for ntz or alinia threads, hope this can help our hbv community to have more info on alinia

asians hbe positive and hbvdna in the millions/billions have had hbvdna pcr lowered from 1 to 3 logs in the frist 4 to 12 weeks, only one seroconverted hbe negative and hbeab positive but hbvdna is still in the millions
