I was diagnosed with hepB 20 years ago. Since then I have been tested regularly to see if my transaminase double their value. Three weeks ago I got my new results back and they are as follows:

GOT (transaminase/liver function test) = 50 U/L
GPT = 88 U/L
AFP (alpha fetoprotein) 1.8 IU/ml
Total antibodies anti hepatitis delta negative
Ag HBs 250.81 S/N positive
Anti-HBc positive
Antigen HBe negative
Antibodies anti HBe positive
Antibodies anti HCV negative
Antibodies anti HBs 0 mUI/ml

Viral Load 22255809

During my last ultrasound the specialist doctor couldn't find any signs that the liver is damaged.
I am 56, I have diabetes, am overweight and hypertensive.
I asked for a few opinions from several doctors and some recommended to start treatment with Entecavir, others to wait.
I would really appreciate it if I could get more information or other opinions so I can decide which way to go.
I also wanted to ask if treatment is free in the UK - I live in Romania (and my treatment should be free but at the moment there are no funds to subsidise it so it would cost around 350 pounds/month!) but my daughter is a UK resident.

Thank you and looking forward to some advice,

Dana
